‘Breaking’ with custom

A group of young Amish and Mennonite adults trade Old World traditions for the modern temptations of Los Angeles in “Breaking Amish.” There’s Betsy, who’s leaving her husband behind, and Lizzie, who has a big secret. A couple of guys, like Sam (left), are going too. Sounds like “Witness” meets “The Real World.” How will they get a plot out of this high concept? The Amish worry about the outside “English” world shunning them. In any case, it’s time to butch up their acts and leave the world of bonnets and buggies behind. Hello, Hollywood Boulevard.
