The virtual performance of “Tupac Shakur” with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at Coachella quickly prompted buzz about anentire tour. But, after an encore set Sunday night, Dre dispelled rumors that he was reincarnating the slain rapper as a hologram-like image for a tour.

“If a tour happens, we’ll see. This was done strictly for Coachella 2012,” Dre said. The virtual 2Pac footage was taken offYouTube yesterday for “Coachella copyright” reasons, but has since gone back up. An unaffiliated “HologramTupac” Twitter account has at least 34,000 followers.

But don’t start saving for an Elvis Presley/Jimi Hendrix tour just yet.
