Two reality TV fans were tricked into coming on the Emmy show Sunday night by producers who told them they were trying out for a mysterious new show.

Emmy dupes Amy Scholsohn and Bruce Milam Jr. – who created the most memorabole moment on this year’s Emmy telecast when they were led unsuspecting onto the stage at the awards telecast – were the toast of L.A. yesterday.

It was ABC’s “Extreme Makeover” casting director Marla Brodsky who hatched the plot to con two unsuspecting reality TV hopefuls a few weeks ago when Shandling visited her set to shoot an Emmys skit.

Scholsohn, 23 of Orlando, Fla. and Milam, 26 of Joliet, Ill., were chosen pretty much at random, she told reporters.

“The casting director contacted me saying, ‘We can’t use you for that show but we are trying to do this [other] surprise reality show,’ ” Scholsohn said yesterday.

” ‘We will fly you to L.A. and just . . . see what your personality is like. Then if it works out, we will fly you back,’ ” she said. “Last night we thought we were going out to dinner. The next thing we know, we are in a limo and blindfolded.”

But if it was a big night for the two reality fans, the Emmys suffered its second-lowest ratings ever.

The Emmys averaged 14 million viewers on ABC from 8 to 11 p.m. – down 22 percent from last year.
