Geri Jewell, who played the role of Geri Warner on the “Facts of Life” TV show, reveals in her upcoming memoir that she is a lesbian, Us Weekly reported Friday.

Jewell, who has cerebral palsy, was the first disabled actress to have a recurring role on a prime time television show. She appeared on the hit NBC show from 1980 to 1984.

“To get film roles while being disabled is definitely a challenge,” the 54-year-old said. In addition to her more recent acting roles on “Strong Medicine” and HBO’s “Deadwood,” Jewell is a motivational speaker and diversity advocate.

“I’m proud of being a role model,” she added.

Her upcoming book “I’m Walking as Straight as I Can” will hit stores in April.
