FILM PICK
“The Great Yokai War” is being called a “children’s movie,” but don’t go expecting “Bambi.”
The director, after all, is Takashi Miike, the Japanese cult god noted for shocking scenes of sex and violence.
It opens with a shot of a devastated Tokyo, followed by scenes of a female demoness in a short, short skirt wielding a whip. This should give you an idea of what to expect when “Yokai” unreels today through July 9 at Anthology Film Archives, Second Avenue and Second Street; (212) 505-5181
