Go ‘Green’
HERE’S your first look at the new “The Green Hornet” movie, which seems to owe a lot to the short-lived ’60s ABC series.
Shooting in LA, the flick — which stars Seth Rogen as the masked vigilante crime-fighter and Jay Chou as Kato, his manservant sidekick — is scheduled for release next year.
While the script may be based on the ’30s radio program, the movie looks a lot like the TV series that starred martial arts legend Bruce Lee as Kato, in his introduction to US audiences.
The TV series tried to capitalize on the campy “Batman” TV craze, but didn’t make it beyond one season.
