TEACHERS are going to love this one. From the makers of Furby comes a tiny new “Micro Boombox” that plays music from stamp-sized digital chips called HitClips.
The chips, which cost up to $5, also can be played in the Micro Player, an itty-bitty personal digital player with a single earbud for listening.
Hasbro’s Tiger Electronics hopes the $7.99 Micro Player, which can be attached to a kid’s collar or backpack, will become a must-have fashion accessory. The Micro Boombox sells for $9.99
The toys hit the shelves last night at FAO Schwarz, along with 60-second HitClips from Britney Spears, *NSYNC, Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Faith Hill and M2M.
Other products in the line are the $14.99 HitClips Alarm Clock (a multichip player) and a Yahoo! HitClips Downloader, allowing kids to download musical blasts onto a recordable HitClip. It runs up to $25.
