This spring, shoe designers are serving up styles to fit every taste – and, finally, every heel requirement.

Unlike last spring – when the high, ladylike pump ruled the runways – this year, the temptations include sweet ballet flats, flirty kitten mules, boho wedges, retro strappy platforms and minxy stilettos.

The strongest trend is color: from tangy pops of citrus-bright limes, lemons and oranges to jolts of electric blue and Pepto pink. Textured fabrications – raffia, brocade and ribbon, polka dots and gingham – also play a part in the giddy new mix of style and color. Ditto for whimsical girly touches like bling-encrusted wedge heels, fabric-flower accents and ribbon or rope straps.
