The 2022 Golden Globes are almost here — but they’re going to look very different.

In fact, if you blink, you might miss it.

This year’s award show won’t appear on a network and it won’t be livestreamed either. Instead, the show will be completely private, with the winners announced via press release and on social media, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Thursday.

The ceremony is the first show of the award season and usually sets the tone for the rest of Hollywood’s year.

However, this is no typical year. The show is plagued not only by the constraints of the pandemic, but its own scandal.

A Los Angeles Times exposé uncovered a scandal within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, alleging that the HFPA has a staggering lack of diversity, questionable ethics and wayward financial workings.

Numerous studios and filmmakers said that they would not work with the organization unless they changed their ways.

The Golden Globes usually air on NBC each year, however, last May the network decided not to go through with this year’s broadcast.

“We continue to believe that the HFPA is committed to meaningful reform. However, change of this magnitude takes time and work, and we feel strongly that the HFPA needs time to do it right,” the network said in a statement at the time. “As such, NBC will not air the 2022 Golden Globes. Assuming the organization executes on its plan, we are hopeful we will be in a position to air the show in January 2023.”

Still, the show will go on, albeit without any pomp and circumstance. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2022 Golden Globes.

When does it start and how do I watch?

The show will not be airing on NBC or on any TV networks this year.

And given that the show won’t even be live streamed, your best bet at watching the winners come through will be watching Twitter.

The show is set to start on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Who is presenting?

2022’s ceremony will have no one hosting and no celebrities presenting.

There will also be no audience, press or red carpet.

The only presenters who will be attending the show will be the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and a handful of “select members and grantees,” according to a release.

Who is nominated?

The nominees for this year’s telecast were announced by Snoop Dogg and include Lady Gaga for her work in “House of Gucci,” Kristen Stewart for her turn as Princess Diana in “Spencer,” Benedict Cumberbatch, Will Smith and Andrew Garfield.

The films “Belfast” and “The Power of the Dog” both scored seven nods a piece while Netflix’s “Don’t Look Up” and “West Side Story” earned four nominations.

The family drama “Succession” won five noms and comedies “The Morning Show” and “Ted Lasso” were each nominated for four awards.
