Why is “American Idol” apol ogizing?

Show host Ryan Seacrest tweeted yesterday to “Idol” fans to “Make sure u watch the producers apology at the top” of the show.

Seacrest, who said he was “working on the LA episode that you will see thursday” did not elaborate.

His tantalizing tweet set the blogosphere ablaze with a guessing game as to why “Idol” producers would issue an apology to the show’s fans.

Several theories include bringing out Chris Medina’s brain-damaged, wheelchair-bound fiancee on last week’s show — which some viewers found over-the-top — or leaving “Idol” winner Taylor Hicks’ name off the show’s “audition wall” of past winners.
