‘IDOL’ FOR STUPID PET TRICKS
EVEN elephants will get a shot at Simon Cowell’s new NBC talent show, “America’s Got Talent” – but only if they have star quality.
“Now we’ve opened the show up to elephants,” Cowell said yesterday in a conference call with reporters to promote the show, which will pit dancers and singers against each other, along with animals, magic and anything else potential contestants can come up with.
The prize for the “American Idol“-style contest is $1 million. Cowell, its executive producer, will not appear on camera.
New York auditions for the series are on April 17 at the Westin hotel in Times Square and at the Crowne Plaza in East Elmhurst on April 19.
