IT’S FREE THIS WEEKEND
THE Museum of Modern Art opens its temporary Long Island City, Queens, facility this weekend with a bang, literally – there’ll be a fireworks display tomorrow night and free admission all weekend long.
After that, it’ll be $12 a head (half-price for students and seniors) to see Van Gogh’s “Starry Night,” Warhol’s Campbell soup cans and paintings, sculptures, video installations and multimedia works the museum’s put on display for the first time.
MoMA returns to its renovated Midtown digs in 2005, after which MoMA QNS will continue as a storage and study center.
Hours this weekend are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more info, call (212) 708-9400 or visit http://www.moma.org.
