CBS officials say they’re “aggressively pursuing” a Democratic primary debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

The debate, to be hosted by Katie Couric, would take place in North Carolina, the next big contest following the Pennsylvania primary.

It’s expected that the debate, if nailed down, would take place sometime between April 22 and the May 6 North Carolina primary.

The Clinton and Obama camps have yet to agree on a date for the debate.

Obama’s campaign had issued a press release citing an April 19 debate, but that has yet to be confirmed.

ABC will host the next big Clinton-Obama debate April 16 in Philadelphia as the candidates battle for Pennsylvania.
