BATTER up! Yes, that is Katie Couric taking a couple of swings in the batting cage yesterday during a “Today” show segment on the plaza promoting the new “Bad News Bears” movie.

The remake of the 1976 classic stars Billy Bob Thornton, Marcia Gay Harden and young female star Sammi Kraft.

It was Kraft, in fact, who played pitcher yesterday – lobbing balls over the plate to Katie, who put a few into play.
