Shows you what a top-rated series can do for your career.

Kevin Costner, who starred in History’s mega-rated miniseries “Hatfields & McCoys” last year, has inked a deal with Lionsgate and Thunderbird Films. Under the agreement, Costner — who hasn’t had much luck with his movie career of late — will develop and produce scripted shows, and could also star and/or direct in one of those shows.

“Hatfields & McCoys” (Costner played patriarch William Hatfield) averaged about 14 million viewers over its three airings — whopping cable numbers.
