Fans are already trying to cash in on the end of David Letterman’s 33-year run on late-night TV by selling off junk from the “Late Show” — including a set of backdrop props for a cool $10,000.
The pricy props, for sale on eBay, include three 4-to-5-foot replicas of the New York City skyline that sat behind Letterman when the “Late Show” was on NBC, according to the eBay post.
“I found these in New York 20 years ago and stored them until now. Amazing thing if you’ve got a room big enough,” the seller wrote.
Another seller on eBay is looking to scam a naive talk-show fan into buying an audience ticket to the last live show for $4,999 — even though the finale aired three days ago.
Meanwhile, free “Late Show” trash flowed outside the Ed Sullivan Theater Friday as workers continued to gut the set and employees cleared out their desks.
This summer, Stephen Colbert will bring an all-new staff to the theater when he takes over the “Late Show.” Letterman’s retirement rendered most of its employees jobless, insiders told The Post.
