Lil Jon and the Kool-Aid Man teamed up for a festive hip-hop version of “All I Really Want for Christmas”.
The Christmas song collaboration features the rapper dancing with the Kool-Aid Man, a DJ’ing Santa and a giant jug of fruit punch – but also includes the unlikely duo baking cookies together.
At one point the 46-year-old rapper dumps eggnog into the sink and replaces it with the nostalgic red drink. The duo also open presents, one of which is a Kool-Aid Man Christmas sweater.
And of course, the soundtrack wouldn’t be complete without hearing Lil John’s signature “Yeahs” and “Oh Yeahs!”
“Kool-Aid man you ready for Christmas?/Oh, yeah!/All I really want, really want for Christmas/All I really want, really want for Christmas/All I really want, really want for Christmas/Is everything on my list, baby, yeah!” Lil Jon sings.
Lil Jon told Rolling Stone “I’ve been wanting to do a Christmas song for forever. I could never get the right inspiration to get it done though … I wanted to do something fun for young and old, and I think that mission is accomplished.”
The Kool-Aid Man also tweeted on his official account: “Ohhhhhh YEAH! @LilJon #OnMyGrownUpChristmasList #AllIReallyWantForChristmas #IsEverythingOnMyListBaby”
It’s no surprise that Twitter is very grateful for this unlikely collaboration. Replying to Kool-Aid’s tweet, someone wrote: “Best christmas song so far.”
The Kool-Aid Man replied, “Oh yeah? #WhenYouSay #SoFar #DoYouMeanEver #AskingForAFriend.” They responded, “I’m so sorry. DAMN autcorrect… For Sure #bestchristmassongever.”
Another user wrote: “Lil Jon and the Koolaid man really saved Christmas” Another user tweeted: “Honestly. Christmas really came early.”
Someone else simply tweeted, “@LilJon you are a gift.”
