Rock mogul Malcolm McLaren, former manager of legendary punk band the Sex Pistols, died Thursday aged 64, Sky News reported.
McLaren’s spokesman Les Malloy said he died Thursday morning in New York after a long battle against cancer.
The British-born impresario was best known for masterminding the rise of the Sex Pistols.
He also opened a clothes shop in the 1970s with British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, his ex-partner.
His body is expected to be returned to the U.K. for his funeral.
