MEET Eric, a 26-year-old attorney who lists his main interests as going to the gym, exploring the city, traveling and, last but not least, “buying things I can’t afford and not caring about it.”
We’re down with that, Eric.
He also says he’s loyal, hardworking, athletic and kind.
And while Eric admits that there’s no place like N.Y.C for having fun, he does say that the dating scene can be tough. “It’s not easy. Everyone is always so busy, myself included – and it’s hard to find time to meet the right person.”
He’s looking for a woman who “thinks of others before she thinks of herself and – although she might want the finer things in life – still appreciates what she has. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt if she looks good in a baseball cap and a tight pair of Sevens!”
What turns him off? Well, he’s definitely not into any woman who acts like she’s better than everyone else – and name-droppers do not rank high on the list, either, nor does “someone who acts like she has to impress others in order to be liked.”
Funny enough, when we asked Eric to share his worst date experienc, the above-mentioned qualities were exactly what made the evening a downer.
“She told me about all the cool parties she goes to, all the ‘cool’ celebrities she had met. It got annoying real quick. She had nothing to say about herself, or what she liked. You hung out with Ashton Kutcher … congratulations, sweetheart.”
Meet the three beautiful women Eric has to choose from – and be sure to get The Post next week to find out whom he chose, and how the big date went. And if you think you’d like to get involved in Meet Market fun, go online to nypost.com/dating.

What do you like to do when you’re not working? I enjoy cooking, going to the gym, trying out new restaurants and traveling. I try to go to a different country each year to sightsee. My favorite country was Egypt – the pyramids at Giza were breathtaking. I also can’t wait to go back to Europe and visit all the churches and museums in Italy.
How would you describe yourself? I’d say I’m smart, sarcastic, honest, funny, reliable and kind.
What do you look for in a man? I’m looking for a smart guy who is not intimidated by an intelligent woman. I’d also like to date a man who wants to travel around the world and not just sit on a beach. Also, chivalry is underrated, and a few flowers before a date go a long way!
What would be your ideal date? Dinner at a fun, trendy and/or new restaurant. It doesn’t gave to be an expensive place, but the atmosphere should be exciting. I think that dinner gives a couple the opportunity to talk and learn more about each other than a movie or show would.
Suzanne, 28, advertising executive
How would you describe yourself? As fun, friendly, active, outgoing and social – with a dry sense of humor.
What do you think of the N.Y.C. dating scene? I think it’s very easy to meet people here; however, it is really hard to meet someone that you have a spark with, and are attracted to on different levels.
If your life had a soundtrack, what would be playing? It would be a mix of different types of music – from pop to R&B to rock. I really like very different types of music. It all depends on my mood.
What was your worst date ever? I was set up with the nephew of my aunt and uncle’s friends. After he cancelled on me two times, I finally ended up meeting him after work near his office. He was 10 minutes late, completely different-looking than described and wouldn’t stop checking his BlackBerry the entire time. I had one glass of wine, and said I had to go home.
Elizabeth, 29, executive assistant in finance
What do you like to do when you’re not working? I go out dancing with my friends, spend time with my son, write poetry and cook.
How would you describe yourself? I’m a well-put-together, polished, bright, independent single mom. I’m big on family and friends, fun-loving and affectionate. I say what I think (with tact, of course!) and love to laugh.
What do you look for in a man? A sense of humor and sharp wit are a must. We have to connect mentally to be attracted physically.
What don’t you find attractive? People who have problems with honesty (whether it’s that they’re looking to impress, to cover something up or any other reason), men who are cowards or anyone who is overly shy.
What was your worst date ever? I went on a blind date a long time ago and I just wasn’t into the guy at all. Through dinner, he kept trying to take my hand across the table and rub my leg romantically. I flinched and pulled away each time. After dinner, I tried to make a quick exit; he pulled me close to kiss me and I had to use all my arm strength to push him off!
