Finance funnyman sks humorous hon

MEET Josh, a 31-year-old financial analyst who describes himself as “a very generous, fun person who is larger than life. I am someone who can speak on a large number of topics intelligently, but I also know when I am in over my head.”

When he’s not crunching numbers, Josh says he likes to “work on my stand-up comedy career, play music, read philosophy, watch baseball and read comic books.”

What are three things this bearded beauty can’t live without? “My phone, books and green tea, since I gave up coffee.” (At a bar, the first drink he’ll order will be “bourbon and soda.”)

Josh thinks that women with a sense of humor are especially sexy. “Also someone with physical poise and someone who is a good storyteller.”

Josh’s worst date came courtesy of a uniformed flight attendant who made him burned brownies. Needless to say, he was not introduced to the mile-high club.

“My ideal date would be to do something smart, like a reading or an exhibit, and then discuss it afterward.”

Deepa, 27, graphic design project manager

What do you like doing when you’re not working? Anything art-related, read, travel, play poker, drink martinis, eat, explore New York and volunteer.

When you go to a bar, what’s the first drink you’ll order? Cosmopolitan.

What are three things you cannot live without?Laughter, my PowerBook, and my friends and family and all of their drama.

What was your worst date? There isn’t enough time to write about them all. I recently went out with one guy who is afraid of the rain. I’m not kidding. I also went out with one guy who sweated so much, he had to leave 45 minutes into the date because his shirt was soaked. And another guy told me he didn’t think women were smart enough to discuss business, politics or world events.

Lilian, 25, finance mgr.

What’s attractive? What’s sexy? Someone who doesn’t beat around the bush and gets to the point.

What do you think of the New York dating scene? It’s difficult to find someone who doesn’t play games and is blatantly honest.

If we were to ask your best friends what kind of man they would like to see you with, what would they say? They’d say someone smart, fun and social.

What would your ideal date be like? I’d say that the perfect date would entail a delicious dinner and a visit to a jazz club.

Denise, 33, office coordinator

What’s sexy to you? What do you look for in a man? A person who has confidence, independence and is comfortable in their own skin. Also, someone who enjoys all that life has to offer. What’s unattractive is someone who has a layer of desperation surrounding them and who just isn’t comfortable with themselves. Someone who needs to constantly be the center of attention is unattractive, too.

What do you think of the New York dating scene? I think it’s the biggest playground in the world. And, as long as people follow the rules, don’t step on anyone’s toes and be respectful of others, I think we can all get along.

What kind of man would your friends like to see you with?Someone who could keep up with me, who would also be able to hang out with them when I’m not around.
