CHANCES are that you recognize Joel McHale from his five- year gig hosting “The Soup.”

He’s made you hoot with laughter during his snarky recaps of the best/stupidest moments on TV each week, but the 37-year-old isn’t just an amusing talking head.

After graduating with a his tory degree from Univer sity of Washington — where he was a tight end on the football team — McHale got a Master of Fine Arts degree from the school’s Professional Actors Training Program. He arrived in Hollywood with his wife — they have two sons now — and was cast in guest starring roles on “Will & Grace” and “Diagnosis Murder,” in addition to movie roles in “Spider-Man 2” and “Lords of Dogtown,” before landing “The Soup.”

Now, with “Community” and a co-starring role in “The Informant” with Matt Damon, McHale is setting himself up to give Vince Vaughn — the go-to-guy for snarky acting — a run for his money.
