MEX FLICK FLAK
A controversial Mexican film about a newly ordained priest who seduces a 16-year-old girl is headed to New York.
Carlos Carrera‘s “El Crimen del Padre Amaro” will be released here Nov. 8 by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
The pic is the highest-grossing Mexican movie in that nation’s history, despite a call by Catholic bishops for a boycott of it.
About 80 percent of Mexicans are Catholic, but the church’s opposition appeared only to generate free publicity for “Padre Amaro.”
