Canadian actor Michael J. Fox has signed on for a role on the CBS drama “The Good Wife,” Entertainment Tonight reported Friday.

Fox, 49, gained fame in the 80s for his role on the popular sitcom “Family Ties.” After announcing his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease in 1998, he has primarily focused on advocating for finding a cure for the degenerative disorder.

In the Emmy-nominated show the “Back to the Future” actor will play a lawyer so “shrewd and cynical” he uses his neurological condition to gain favor for his client, the show’s producers Robert and Michelle King said.
