Miramax has put out a press release touting the Hong Kong action flick “Shaolin Soccer,” which it opens in U.S. theaters in April.

Miramax points out that the film, written and directed by Stephen Chow – who stars, too – was a box office smash in HK and the winner of several prizes there.

But the propaganda fails to mention that the version that will open here is vastly different from the one that took Hong Kong by storm.

The actioner has been cut by more than 20 minutes and the original Cantonese dialogue has been dubbed into English.

Naughty, naughty.
