NBC hasn’t decided if it will change the name of MSNBC, now that it’s acquired a majority stake in the cable network from Microsoft.

MSNBC has never seriously challenged Fox News Channel or CNN for viewers, but its Web site has been a success, and that might be a reason to retain the MSNBC name, insiders say.

NBC announced last Friday that it’s acquired an 82 percent stake in MSNBC.
