At the last minute, CBS last night pulled its scheduled episode of the sitcom “Mike & Molly” because it centers on a tornado hitting Chicago.

“Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight’s season finale of Mike & Molly, which has a related story line,” said a CBS spokesman.

A repeat episode of ‘Mike & Molly’ ran in its place.

More than 50 people were killed by a series of tornadoes that struck Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois and Iowa over the weekend.

The “Mike and Molly” episode was intended to be a season finale for the comedy — a serious blow to the series that was trying to come back from a so-so third-season slump.

“The season finale will be broadcast at an appropriate date” was all the network would say yesterday.
