Cable TV network Oxygen will develop a reality series based on the hit high school musical series “Glee,” in addition to airing syndicated episodes of the original Fox series, Entertainment Weekly reported Tuesday.

Oxygen will begin airing syndicated episodes of “Glee” in 2013, while the reality series will reportedly debut sometime in 2011.

A proposed “Glee” reality show, in which unknowns would compete to appear in episodes of the fictional show, was reported as being scrapped by Fox in New York magazine on June 22, but Oxygen’s involvement appears to have rekindled interest in the spinoff. The format of the Oxygen reality series has not been announced.

In addition to the original series, “Glee” cast members in May mounted a four-city “Glee Live! In Concert!” tour.
