BIG RATINGS: Perry.
Tyler Perry’s prime-time soap, “The Haves and Have Nots,” continues to rack up impressive numbers on OWN.
For the third consecutive week, the series — which encompasses a rich, powerful Southern family and the hired help who work for them — set a series high, with last Tuesday’s episode (9-10 p.m.) snaring 2.1 million viewers.
It also finished second on cable, for the fifth consecutive week, in women 25-54, a key demo.
“The Haves and Have Nots” stars Angela Robinson, Jaclyn Betham, Renee Lawless, Gavin Houston and Tika Sumpter, among its large ensemble cast.
Perry, who’s also a mega-successful big-screen writer/director/star (“Madea’s Big Happy Family,” “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” “Why Did I Get Married?”), inked an exclusive TV deal with OWN.
He will be developing more shows for the cable network in the future.
