ABC News is setting aside time during its evening newscast to combat lung cancer – with late “World News Tonight” anchor Peter Jennings firmly in mind.
“Quit to Live: Fighting Lung Cancer” will air as a series of reports on “World News Tonight.”
Jennings, a longtime smoker, died last August after a battle with lung cancer.
“Peter Jennings was at the forefront of reporting on the dangers of smoking and tobacco throughout his career, and we are committed to carrying on his work,” said “WNT” executive producer Jon Banner.
