LOS ANGELES — Pop star Pink came to the rescue of a puppy that was left with life-threatening injuries after being thrown into the Los Angeles River to drown.

The puppy needed emergency surgery to treat three broken legs after being tossed from a Los Angeles overpass into the river below.

After reading about the puppy’s plight online, the singer contacted the Ace of Hearts animal rescue center and said she would pay for whatever medical treatment was needed to save the dog’s life, sources told TMZ.

She ended up donating $5,000 to the center.

The puppy made a full recovery from its operation and was then adopted by a family.
