GAME One of the Yanks-Bosox ALCS scored big numbers on Fox – and even bigger numbers on Ch. 5.

The 10-7 Yankees victory in the Bronx snared a 10.0 rating and 15 million viewers – terrific numbers for a playoff game and indicative of the intense, bitter rivalry between the teams.

The game led Fox to an easy prime-time victory in total viewers and, more importantly, among the coveted adults 18-49 demo – Fox’s best adult 18-49 showing, in fact, since last season’s finale of “American Idol.”

Locally, the game pulled a huge audience of 2.9 million viewers on Ch. 5 – more than the total number of viewers on Ch.’s 2, 4, 7, 9 and 11 combined.

The playoff game’s closest competitor, in terms of viewers, was “Law & Order: SVU,” which averaged 12.2 million viewers from 10 to 11 p.m. on NBC and snared 948,000 viewers on Ch. 4. “NYPD Blue” averaged 836,000 viewers on Ch. 7, according to Nielsen.

The series resumes with Game 3 tomorrow night at Fenway Park in Boston (8 p.m./Ch. 5).

Fox is a division of News Corp., which also owns The Post.
