RELIGULOUS (2008)
Sunday, 2:30 p.m., SHOe
Bill Maher and “Borat” director Larry Charles set out to prove that organized religions are wacky and dangerous. They go to the Creationist Museum — dedicated to showing that humans and dinosaurs roamed the earth together — and other places where religion is more over-the-top than organized. Like Maher? Then, you’ll like the movie and vice-versa.
DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS (1986)
Tuesday, 8 p.m., Style
Paul Mazursky’s remake of the 1932 Jean Renoir comedy, “Boudu Saved From Drowning,” about a filthy, but charming drifter (Nick Nolte) who tries to drown himself in the swimming pool of a wealthy, shallow Beverly Hills couple (Bette Midler. Richard Dreyfuss). He moves in with them and changes the lives of the hanger manufacturer and his Yoga/yenta wife. Hilarious.
A FACE IN THE CROWD (1957)
Thursday, 8 p.m., TCM
Elia Kazan’s masterpiece about a guitar-playing drifter named Larry “Lonesome” Rhodes (Andy Griffith) who is discovered by a talent scout, becomes a star, and then his super ego takes over. Think of every reality-TV star who has forgotten about their 15-minute time limit — before such ideas were ever thought of — and you’ll love “Face.”
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (2006)
Saturday, 5 p.m., FX
A young woman (Anne Hathaway) lands a dream job as assistant to the editor (Meryl Streep) of the world’s most famous fashion rag. It’s all great — until the first day. The editor is a monster who berates, batters and bullies everyone in her path.
