But with a starving family (literally) to support, and with the encouragement of his wife (Renée Zellweger), Braddock impossibly works his way back up and becomes champ. The real Rocky.

As the country becomes increasingly more unstable, the couple becomes increasingly more distant, falling under the spell of Rasputin (Tom Baker) in dealing with their young son’s hemophilia until their excess results in the Russian Revolution and the execution of the entire family.
