This shocking, multilayered film tells the story of an IRA terrorist kidnapping of a British soldier gone wrong. The soldier (Forest Whitaker) and his hapless victim (Stephen Rea) develop a rapport and the terrorist is drawn into the soldier’s world, which is not what it appears to be. Nor is the soldier’s lover what she appears to be.
