From Arthur Hailey’s best-seller, this film spawned a thousand sequels and spoofs about the personal dramas of airline personnel. Here old-time stars Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin deal with a bomb-laden Rome-bound flight and a snowbound airport.

A teenage boy (Patrick Fugit), is given the chance to not only write about a new rock band for Rolling Stone but to tour with them as well. This Cameron Crowe movie made almost-famous Kate Hudson into famous Kate Hudson, rocker wife.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (2005)

Based on Roald Dahl’s tale about a kid (Freddie Highmore) who wins a tour of Willy Wonka’s famous chocolate works, this film is fun, except that Johnny Depp’s getup as Willy Wonka makes him look less like an eccentric candy man than a latter-day Michael Jackson.
