LONDON — British rocker Rod Stewart welcomed a baby boy — his eighth child — with his wife Penny Lancaster, The Sun newspaper reported Thursday.

“Born February 16th 2011, weighing 7lb 12oz, mother and baby are healthy and blissfully happy,” a statement from Stewart’s rep said.

The 66-year-old already has a five-year-old son, Alastair, with his third wife. The 39-year-old model underwent IVF treatments to become pregnant after the couple struggled with infertility.

“Rod and Penny are proud and thrilled to welcome Alastair’s baby brother Aiden into the world,” the statement added.

Stewart already has six children from his previous relationships and he announced that his eighth child would be his last.

“I keep fit and healthy and, with a young family there is no holding me back. I’m very happy but it will be the last. I can’t have any more kids, otherwise I will be touring until I’m 90,” Stewart told Hello! magazine in September.
