Campy shark movie thriller “Sharknado” exploded into an insane pop culture phenomena last night — raking in Twitter numbers about a fourth of the Super Bowl.

The unexpected hit — which featured mostly has-been actors and an unbeatable plotline — garnered 5,000 tweets per minute as fans aired their excitement after the flick ended at 11 p.m.

The SyFy made-for-TV flick, which featured Ian Ziering of “Beverly Hills 90210,” and Tara Reid of “American Pie,” centers on a dramatic storm that spews a whirling tornado of sharks into a California town.
