THE cutest promotional stunt for Disney Channel’s much-hyped “High School Musical 2” may be this one:

Ashley Tinsdale starred in the movie but her steady job is playing Maddie on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” – also on Disney Channel.

In an upcoming episode of “Zack & Cody,” Maddie tries out for her school’s production of “High School Musical” for the role of Sharpay.

The joke will be that she loses the part – the same one she made famous in the movie.

“High School Musical 2” debuts in mid-August.
