Showtime has renewed its comedy series “Nurse Jackie” for a fourth season, IGN reported Monday.

Edie Falco, who plays the title role on “Nurse Jackie,” won the award for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series at the 62nd Emmy Awards last year

Showtime has also canceled its acclaimed comedy-drama series “The United States of Tara.” The finale of the show’s third and final season is scheduled to air on June 20.

Series star Toni Collette won an Emmy Award in 2009 and a Golden Globe Award in 2010 for her role as a woman who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, also known as multiple personality disorder.
