“The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius” (Nickelodeon, 9/6) – First it was a movie and now it’s a series. Pre-teen geek Jimmy Neutron, his faithful robotic dog, Goddard and a whole slew of cool gadgets were birn for TV. In the film (which was nominated for an Oscar), Jimmy saved the world from aliens. Now he’s just trying to survive as a haphazard genius. It’s not easy being smart.

“Steven Spielberg Presents Taken” (Sci Fi Channel, 12/2-6, 12/9-13) -Spielberg’s name has fueled high expectations for this 20-hour miniseries produced by the man himself. The entire history of UFOs told through three families. Joel Gretsch (“Minority Report”) is a power-hungry military captain who discovers aliens in a crashed spacecraft and Dakota Fanning is as precocious 10-year-old girl with alien superpowers, naturally. Alien abduction, government conspiracies and Roswell, N.M – think “Band of Brothers” meets “ET.”
