The producers of the troubled Broadway musical “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” were working with a new writer Thursday to fix the plot of the troubled show.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who has written “Spider-Man” comics for Marvel, will rewrite the script originally done by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger.

The $65 million production has become Broadway’s most expensive show and its opening has been delayed four times since beginning previews Nov. 28. The show is now scheduled to open March 15.

Critics who reviewed it last month almost uniformly trashed the show, which is led by “The Lion King” director Taymor and has music by U2’s Bono and The Edge.

Among the other problems is a series of injuries related to the production that led to the New York State Department of Labor issuing two safety violations against the Broadway musical.

Cast members injured include a stunt actor who fell 35 feet during a performance and suffered a skull fracture and cracked vertebrae, and a lead actress who dropped out after she suffered a concussion.
