Rocky’s road to ‘PLJ

Rocky Allen, a ‘PLJ mainstay in the ’90s with his “Showgram,” is returning to the station (95.5 FM) after a six-year absence.

Allen, who held down the fort at ‘PLJ from 1993-99 – before leaving for WABC and then Detroit – returns next Tuesday. He’ll host the afternoon-drive slot (3-7 p.m.), with Race Taylor moving to the midday slot (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) following “Scott & Todd” and Rich Kaminski moving to weekends and fillin work.

“This is exactly where I want to be, doing exactly what I want to do,” Allen said.

Alex Ferrer, host of TV’s newest court show, “Judge Alex,” forsook a possible appointment to Florida’s appellate

court for his new TV job -and the money isn’t too bad, either. “I really enjoyed being a judge and it was something I would have loved to have done forever . . . but it’s a government job and you do make concessions on financial matters,” says the ex-cop, attorney and Circuit Court Judge-who’s also good friends with his newest competitor: “People’s Court” Judge Marilyn Milian.

“Marilyn is a very close personal friend of mine, and when she was approached [for her show] we talked about it,” he says. “Then when I was approached to do this show I talked to her and came to New York . . . to watch her show being taped.” “Judge Alex” airs 2 p.m. on Ch. 5.
