Comedy Central has renewed “Mind of Mencia” (Carlos Mencia) for a third season, which will premiere, in cablespeak (since they can’t ever give firm dates), in “First Quarter ’07.” The show’s averaging 2.1 million viewers this season. Mencia’s a funny guy who deserves the success.
FX, meanwhile, has renewed “Rescue Me” for a fourth season, which will go into production early next year with the entire cast returning – including star Denis Leary.

WBLS personality Wendy Williams, who’s already a best-selling author, has inked a deal with Life & Style magazine to write a weekly column and join the publication’s advisory board. The column, “Side Dish With Wendy Williams,” premieres in this week’s issue, which hits newsstands nationwide tomorrow. Williams’ new radio reality show is slated to air this fall on VH1.

The annual Dacor Taste of Tennis will be served again during this year’s U.S. Open next month, with Al Roker and Mario Batali, among others, dishing out gourmet food to benefit City Harvest, the world’s oldest food rescue organization. Speaking of hotels, former “That ’70s Show” star Danny Masterson will be the guest celebrity DJ tomorrow for the preview grand opening party for mur.mur nightclub at the Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City. Shannon Elizabeth and Jamie Lynn Sigler are expected.

Bravo is teaming with Hampton Luxury Liner, a competitor to the Hampton Jitney, to air teases of upcoming episodes of a few shows, including “Project Runway,” on all Friday and Saturday bus routes between Manhattan and The Hamptons. It starts tomorrow.

* Kelly Clarkson (left), who won the first “American Idol” back in 2002, will headline her first HBO concert next Feb. 3 from London’s Wembley Arena. Her second album, “Breakaway,” is an international smash.
* Comedy Central will re-run “Trapped in the Closet,” the “South Park” episode needling Tom Cruise and Scientology, on Wednesday. It was supposed to re-air in May but was scratched- reportedly under pressure from Cruise.
