Starr report
Former “Early Show” co- anchor Rene Syler has finally made it to Carnegie Hall — in a manner of speaking. Syler narrates “Sing for the Cure,” which is joining another pro gram, “Heartsongs,” in an “in spirational concert” to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Mattie Stepanek Foundation. The shows premiere Sunday (8:30 p.m.) at Carnegie Hall, with Timo thy Seelig conducting the or chestra for “Heartsongs,” based on the works of Mattie Stepanek, the child-poet who passed away in 2004 (he was 13) from a rare form of muscu lar dystrophy. Carnegiehal l.org has info. More: Emmy winner Judy Gold opens for former “SNL” trouper Dar rell Hammond next Wednesday at Comedy For a Cause (Terminal 5, 610 W. 56th.) to benefit Reed Acad emy, a school for autistic children in Garfield, NJ. Gold and Hammond donated their time (and Terminal 5 donated the venue).
