STARR REPORT
A kiss is just a kiss – or is it?
Fasten your seatbelts – we’re descending into the bizarro world of Liza Minnelli and husband David Gest.
Minnelli and Gest interview each other tonight and tomorrow on “Entertainment Tonight” (7 p.m./Ch. 2) – with some strange results.
Gest: “How would you rate me as a kisser?”
Minnelli: “Numero uno, caro.”
Gest: “So you mean that fish kiss that’s been all over the world, so I am numero uno?”
Minnelli: “I kept telling you it looks different than it feels. Darling, what would you say is my best physical feature?”
Gest: “Without a doubt, your nose and your left breast. I love to cuddle and can’t go to sleep unless I’m next to your left breast. I love the right breast just as much . . . “
Carol Brady gets cookin’ for Wayne Brady
A gaggle of well-known TV moms will help Wayne Brady kick off a week-long cooking series beginning today (10 a.m./Ch. 7) with Phylicia Rashad (“The Cosby Show,” “Cosby”).
Aided by Brady, Rashad will prepare her sweet potatoes, and will be followed in the TV-mom parade by Estelle Harris (“Seinfeld”), Florence Henderson (“The Brady Bunch”) and Marion Ross (“Happy Days”) making mushroom barley soup, roast turkey and pumpkin pie, respectively.
Another TV mom – OK, so her character wants to be a mom, but isn’t one yet – is “Sopranos” star Drea de Matteo (Adrianna). Matteo will join Gina Geshon and model Sarah O’Hare tonight to celebrate the launch of Christian Dior’s Sparkling and High End jewelry collection at Tourneau. It’s being co-hosted by Vogue magazine.
He’s got Charisma – and a baby on the way
If fans of “Angel” were wondering why star Charisma Carpenter is seen in so many closeups lately, here’s why: She’s pregnant.
People magazine’s “Insider” column reports tomorrow that Carpenter, who plays Cordelia on the WB series, is expecting a boy on March 17 with husband Damian Hardy, a psychology major at Santa Monica College. The couple got hitched Oct. 5 in a small Las Vegas ceremony attended only by their families.
“Insider” reports that Carpenter and Hardy plan to have a full-blown, bigger wedding in Los Angeles after their son is born.
Save the date – for Dave Price?
Ch. 5’s Dave Price needs a date – so “Good Day New York” and “GDNY’s” Jim “Yenta the Matchmaker” Ryan are setting him up with four women he will begin dating tonight – with details to follow, of course (7-9 a.m./Ch. 5).
Meanwhile, Ch. 5 is flip-flopping the original and repeat runs of “Montel.” Starting Dec. 2, the original “Montel” will air at 9 a.m., with the repeat airing at 1 p.m. after “Good Day Live.”
That same day, Dec. 2, “All My Children” star Susan Lucci drops by “Montel.” She’s been pals with Montel Williams since he appeared on “AMC” last season as Judge Pierson.
This just in . . .
CBS news: On tomorrow’s “48 Hours Investigates” (8 p.m./Ch. 2): Harold Dow on the case of Jim Watson – who some believe killed his wife (she vanished without a trace in Georgia). And on tomorrow’s “Early Show,” Harry Smith goes bonefishing with ex-President George H. Bush live from the Florida Keys.
Judy Collins visits Scott Muni tomorrow (noon) on Q-104.3 FM to promote her “Christmas at Carnegie Hall” special (Nov. 29). Q’s Saturday night DJ Zach Martin produces Muni’s show.
