STARR REPORT
Marie makes blanket statement with Fatone
Singer/songwriter Michelle Marie will guest tomorrow on Ch. 2’s “News this Morning” (5-7 a.m.) to discuss her Blankets for Warmth program.
Marie founded the organization (which stands for “Warm The Homeless”) last year while recording her new album, “Garden Party.” Her aim is to provide hands-on assistance to young people she saw living on the streets, by handing out blankets from an Army surplus store.
Tomorrow night at Suede, Marie will host a Blankets for Warmth benefit with the Coalition for the Homeless – and special guest Joey Fatone from ‘NSYNC. The benefit will run from 9 to 11 p.m. at the club (161 W. 23rd. between 6th and 7th). Guests are encouraged to bring a new or “gently used” blanket.
Davies formulates new ‘Match’ game
Michael Davies, the man who brought you “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” – and there’s still no question mark after the title – has a new reality show that will premiere next year on cable’s ABC Family.
“Perfect Match” will be a one-hour dating show based on a British series of the same name. The show, produced by RDF Media, will help one lucky guy or gal finally find Mr. or Ms. Right – with the help of a professional matchmaker. The two finalists – one male, one female – will then live together for a month to see if they are, indeed a “perfect match.”
ABC has ordered 13 episodes of the series, and producers are looking for people in the tri-state area, roughly 21 to 40 years old, to participate in the show. Interested parties can either send an e-mail to perfect.match@rdfmedia.com, log on to abcfamily.com for details or call (212) 404-1400.
