STARR REPORT
“Extra” host Dayna Devon returns Thursday with another round of “Dayna TV” – in which she’ll appear in a slew of TV shows to help raise money, this time for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
“I can’t tell you how much fun it’s been,” says Devon, who shot the majority of her guest- starring roles over the past month. Beginning Thursday, “Extra” will highlight Devon’s visits to the sets of “Navy NCIS,” “8 Simple Rules,” “Gilmore Girls,” “George Lopez,” “MADtv,” “Charmed” and other shows on which she’ll appear in episodes airing all this month.
“‘Charmed’ was the most amazing. I play a female vulture demon and had three hours of makeup every day,” she says. “I had to go for a fitting and had full dentures and contacts; they had someone on the set who did nothing but moisturize my eyes and escort me around because I had no peripheral vision with the contacts.
“And my mouth is still rubbed raw on the bottom from the dentures.”
The first “Dayna TV,” which launched last February, raised over $12,000 for the Fulfillment Fund, which helps underprivileged children. Dayna presented a check to Cuba Gooding Jr., who accepted on behalf of the organization. And expect to see “Dayna TV” again in November, Devon says.
“The first time around, in February, we didn’t realize how successful it would be,” she says. “We’ll have a lot of lead time for November.”
