CBS has ordered another summer show from Steven Spielberg — now that his “Under the Dome” is a success.

Like “Dome,” the 13-episode series, “Extant” — produced by Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Studios — will premiere next summer.

And, like “Dome,” it’s got a sci-fi-type feel, billed as “a futuristic thriller about a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space.” No cast members have been announced.

“Dome,” which premiered in late June, will return for a second season next summer, in tandem with “Extant.”
