MISS MUSCLE
DID you know that Los Angeles is a “city greatly invested in the cult of fitness, celebrity and beauty,” as Bravo President Lauren Zalaznick says? You don’t say. In “Work Out,” the network’s latest reality show, the life and business of trainer Jackie Warner comes under scrutiny. “Work Out” follows Ms. Warner as she bends, stretches and bench presses at the Sky Sport and Spa in Beverly Hills, California. See the state-of-the-art equipment, behold the musculature of the tawny trainers. See these Popeyes cuddle and cavort, sweat and rip the odd tendon. Warning: one of the trainers is named Zen.

REALITY
No comfort zone
MORGAN SPURLOCK, director of the fast food industry expose “Super Size Me,” won new respect last summer when his TV show “30 Days” debuted on FX. Spurlock attempted to dramatize the working-class experience by performing menial jobs himself. Some critics found the series illuminating. Others found Spurlock’s revelations a teensy bit patronizing. Wow, dishwashing is a really lousy way to make a living! You don’t say, Mr. Spurlock. This year on “30 Days” a member of the anti-immigration group The Minutemen lives with a- holy switcheroo!- a family of illegal immigrants. Executive producer R.J. Cutler brags on the FX web site, “The topics for the season are the most pressing social issues of the day.”

Strange things happen
TOM SKERRITT and Paul Weslay star in the original TV-movie “Fallen,” the unusual story of recently adopted teenage orphan, Aaron, and his search for his identity. On Aaron’s 18th birthday he begins to experience strange phenomena. Animals start talking to him and he has terrifyingly real nightmares. The alarmed young man begins to realize that he may have a destiny greater than he ever imagined. Either that, or he’s completely losing his mind. The otherwordly project is based on the popular books by Tom Sniegoski.
