Some Frank talk

Memo to CBS: Frank Stallone thinks he can win the next “Survivor” – if he can get on the show.

“I’d love to do the show if they took survival to another level – where you really had to go out and do something,” he says.

“I lived in Africa for about a year-and-a-half in the jungle and I’ve been charged by a 1,800-pound Cape Buffalo, which is called ‘the black death,'” says Stallone, late of the WB’s “Movie Stars.”

“If you’ve never hunted for food and you’re on an island where you’re being fed, how would you survive? You’re going to starve.

“I think the most brutal location would be the North Pole or Alaska – where the bottom line is you’re really on a polar bear’s food chain. They’re not afraid of you.”

CBS has already scheduled “Survivor II” to unravel in the Australian Outback early next year.

“I think something like that would be interesting,” Stallone says. “People thinking I couldn’t do it, thinking, ‘Oh, he’s ‘Rocky’s’ brother,’ would make it even more exciting.”

Stallone is hoping his “Movie Stars” experience will lead to some more TV work.

“I liked being on a TV show, although I felt like [‘Waltons’ grandfather] Will Geer on [the WB] because it’s very youth-oriented,” he says.

2 is up at 4

Good news for Ch. 2’s 4 p.m. newscast, which saw its ratings jump from May to June.

Ratings for the 4 p.m. broadcast, anchored by Dana Tyler and Stephen Clark, were up 22 percent in June, averaging 151,000 households. Part of the reason could do with the aforementioned “Survivor” – and interviews with contestants chucked off the island.

Ch. 2 also had an impressive guest lineup including BB King, Carmen Electra and Patrick Stewart – no doubt bringing a smile to the face of Ch. 2 news honcho “Joltin’ Joel” Cheatwood.
